The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies into the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it is alarmed in regards to the large number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The service level designed for intervention activities a superior inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much status sassa more sources to allow the servicing of all clients and boost entry to sassa status Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
